July 10th – Altoona, Ia. Prairie Meadows recently awarded the Southeast Polk Rams Baseball Club a Youth Sports and Recreational Grant totaling $15,000. The grant will help fund improvements to the indoor facility and fund scholarships for our program to families in need. Prairie Meadows is a nonprofit organization dedicated to lessening the burden of government by promoting economic development, jobs, agriculture, and tourism in the state of Iowa.
“Rams Baseball Club couldn’t be more grateful for the grant that we received from Prairie Meadows. We recently secured our own indoor facility and quickly recognized that we needed to do some more updates in order to continue to build on the current experience that our families have, all while keeping our costs affordable. We will be looking to purchase our own pitching machines, L-screens to keep coaches and players safe as well as everyday wear items like balls and t’s. Another great addition will be able to help our families that are on scholarships in our program. Rams Baseball Club is just getting started on taking our club to the next level and I am really excited about our future”, said Matt Beattie, Rams Baseball Club President.
The Youth Sports and Recreational Grant will improve the lives of people in central Iowa by enabling the Southeast Polk Rams Baseball Club to complete improvements to the indoor facility. The $15,000 grant will allow Southeast Polk Rams Baseball Club to purchase training and safety equipment for the indoor facility as well as helping families that are in need of scholarships. The improvements are expected to be completed during the fall of 2023.
“At Prairie Meadows, we are dedicated to transforming the lives of central Iowans. We are proud to support Rams Baseball Club and many other projects in our community,” said Julie Stewart, Prairie Meadows Vice President of Community Relations.

About Southeast Polk Rams Baseball Club
Rams Baseball Club is a youth baseball organization that is available to all kids ages 6 - 14 who live in the communities that make up Southeast Polk Community Schools. The goal of Rams Baseball Club is to offer a developmental program that is guided by the coaches of our high school baseball program so our players are ready to compete at a high level when they reach high school. We work hard to offer a family friendly environment that helps develop the whole child. We achieve this through effective communication with our baseball community and offer a variety of family events for our baseball club throughout the year. Our teams participate in USSSA baseball tournaments in the state of Iowa and occasionally travel outside of the state for some tournaments. If you live in the SEP school district, we hope you decided to join the RBC baseball family.
